Free Classes Online

May 17, 2017

Do you enjoy learning new things?

Do you long for the good old days when classes charged $3 an hour?  Now it’s hard to find classes for under $10 an hour.

Well, you can take online classes for free.  Have you ever heard of MOOCs?  They are Massive Open Online Classes given by universities.  You can take classes from universities like Stanford and Johns Hopkins.   What can you take?  Universities offer a range of online classes from art to zoo management.   I have taken HTML5 and CSS, and I just signed up for JavaScript.

To get started visit, a catalog of MOOC classes.  You can search by subject, university, or other criteria.  You can also go directly to the universities.  Search the “university name” plus free online courses.

Of course there’s always a catch.  You definitely can’t get course credit unless you pay.  And some features like graded tests may be unavailable if they require instructors’ resources.  But if you want to just know more about a subject, why pay to study?
